Kubo and the Two Strings

Send us a text

In this week's episode we talkabout arguably the most ambitious stop motion animation to date: Studio Laika's 'Kubo and the Two Strings'. We talk about the intricate story details in this stunning animation, as well as discussing character dynamics, origami, voice performances and more. We lead a draft pick of stop motion movies, discuss our favourite animated fight scenes and ultimately decide whether 'Kubo' deserves a place on our DVD shelf. Enjoy!

This would be a much longer story if Kubo had seventeen strings. He'd reunite with his mum and dad, realise the metaphor and then have to come to terms with the fact there are fifteen other relatives to reunite with. A less-than-ideal situation for Kubo and his journey to greatness.
